The City of Lancaster has an opening for the position of Water Treatment Engineer with the City of Lancaster Bureau of Water

The Water Treatment Engineer has the primary responsibility of working with the Bureau of Water as the manager to enhance the efficiency of the treatment plants.  This position requires strong technical and project management skills coupled with familiarity and understanding of the inner workings of water treatment plants.


Baccalaureate or higher degree in Engineering or one that is associated with the production, maintenance and distribution of water.

Minimum Five (5) years of responsible plant experience and/or design of water treatment systems.

Possession of a Professional Engineering License with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain a license within one (1) year.

Ability to obtain a Water Plant Operator’s license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within four (4) years for Water Treatment Plants.
