Special message from Bob McIntyre, PA-AWWA’s Water for People Chair:Just a heads up Stone Hill’s Month of giving is flying by, it is already November 8, 2021, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

In the way of an update on our efforts for this year:

  1. The Fundraiser for Bucks County Opportunity Council is off to a slow start, and we need your help.  From now until the end of November, we will continue to try to raise funds for Bucks County Opportunity Council. When we started this event we would collect specific items for BCOC, but when COVID hit, their needs changed drastically, and they asked us to switch it up a bit, and try to collect some funds to help support them. In order to make it easier on our friends, family, vendors and coworkers, we set up a go fund me link to help collect much needed funds that can be used where most needed. Just go to:  and make your tax deductible donation. Last year we raised close to $4000, and we hope to do so again this year.
  2. Operation Christmas Child is doing well! We currently have just over 310 shoe boxes packed, and we are hoping for some more by the end of the week. These boxes will be dropped of at the local collection location in Harleysville, PA next week. There is still time to help.
  • Pack a shoe box and drop it off at our office by the end of the week. There are official Operation Christmas Boxes at the office, so you can just bring in the products you wish to send and put it one of our boxes.
  • Donate to help defray the cost of shipping the shoeboxes all over the world. It costs $9 per box to ship these boxes to their ultimate destination. So for 310 Boxes that is $2790 that it will cost to ship them. If you would like to help with shipping costs, you can make your check payable to Samaritan’s Purse (a 501(c ) 3 organization) and drop it or mail it to our office. So we can have by the end of this week.

It brings real joy each year as we join together with employees and vendors and friends as we think of all the smiles from the children who have little to nothing, who then get to open their own box filled with all kinds of items to play and learn with.

  1. Last but not least an update on the 15th Annual Water For People GALA that was held last week. About 70 people were in attendance for this much anticipated and much enjoyed event at William Penn Inn. The night was a success with many new faces, as well as friends who have been along for the ride since the GALA’s inception. Again Stone Hill is honored to host this event each year, and to have the ability to give back to the water industry, as they try to help the less fortunate in developing countries throughout the world. It was a pleasure also to have Julie Kauffman, from Water For People in Denver, join us and tell us about what Water For People is doing today, and where they are headed through 2030.

To those of you who have supported our efforts to date, we give you much thanks. To those who are on the fence, we ask that you consider helping with either Bucks County Opportunity County Fundraiser, or with the Operation Christmas Child efforts.  For some of us the past couple years have not only been unique, but they have been hard in many ways. Even with all the hard times we have experienced of late (COVID, Race Riots, Shootings, Politics, etc.) it doesn’t compare to the fate of millions of people around the world who have nothing. They cant even get a glass a water to drink, without the possibility of their body being harmed, or they may not have a pencil or paper with which to write with. Stone Hill has been blessed to be successful for over 40 years, and we hope more, and that is why each year we take a slight break and hope to help others with that success, and we hope we can bless those in need, with a just a little hand up. We hope you can join us in doing so. If you don’t feel you can help with one of our efforts, than please consider doing something with the people where you are.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who have supported Stone Hill over the past 40 years, and we look forward to continuing to work with you for another 40.

Have a very blessed Thanksgiving! An be sure to think on all the blessings you have received, and acknowledge them in some way, by reaching out to others who are in need.
