The Vernon D. Lucy III Scholarship offered by SUEZ is awarded annually to an undergraduate student seeking a degree in science or engineering. J’Anna-Mare Lue fits that description as a student pursuing her bachelors and master’s degrees in environmental engineering with a minor in Global Health at Drexel University.

For J’Anna-Mare this is a first step toward accomplishing her goals of completing a doctorate and becoming a professor who inspires a culture of care, collaboration and civic engagement in engineering. Leadership and engagement is nothing new to her, as she has already co-founded the Drexel Sanitation Health Aid Relief Project (SHARP) to raise awareness of WASH issues face by margianalized populations. She is also the current president of WISE, the West Indian Student Establishment on campus. This organization’s mission is to unite the West Indian population at Drexel University. J’Anna-Mare would like to increase her AWWA engagement and is available via email at  [email protected]

Padam Neupane is pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, Penn State Harrisburg, PA. His $5000 Scholarship was awarded by Roberts Filter Group as the Charles “Chick” Roberts Scholarship to pursue a career in the water supply industry.

He began his university career at Tribhuvan University-Tri Chandra Multiple Campus, Kathmandu Nepal, and believes that studying at Pennsylvania State University will be an ideal launching pad to live his dream of contributing to the wastewater treatment prospects in Nepal. After the completion of his degree, he plans to contribute to the design of effective wastewater treatment plants in various industrial and residential locations in his home country.  Padam is eager to connect with water professionals via email at [email protected]
