PA Senate Confirms Patrick McDonnell as DEP Secretary

The state Senate unanimously confirmed (50-0) the executive nomination of Patrick McDonnell as Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Governor Wolf nominated the acting DEP chief Patrick McDonnell as the state’s permanent top environmental regulator in September. McDonnell is replacing John Quigley, who was ousted by the Wolf Administration last May over an email controversy. McDonnell has been serving in that role since Quigley’s departure.
