Utility Worker Job Description
The North Penn Water Authority in Lansdale, Pa is seeking a full time Utility Worker to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Utility Staff with water system maintenance and repair
- Perform digging with shovel in order to expose water pipes
- Clean and maintain company tools and equipment
- Complete Mark Outs of existing water system appurtenances
- Paint fire hydrants
- Carry tools and equipment from company vehicles to work sites
- Need to descend into 3 to 5 foot deep excavations and perform repairs
- Flagging and traffic control
- Available for after-hours call outs for emergency repairs
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Qualified candidates should have 0 to 5 years’ applicable experience (construction, plumbing, previous water authority, etc.)
- Able to lift and carry/push/pull a minimum of 75 pounds
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Good physical mobility
- Good balance
- Good hand to eye coordination and dexterity
- High School Diploma or GED
