Utility Worker Job Description

The North Penn Water Authority in Lansdale, Pa is seeking a full time Utility Worker to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Utility Staff with water system maintenance and repair
  • Perform digging with shovel in order to expose water pipes
  • Clean and maintain company tools and equipment
  • Complete Mark Outs of existing water system appurtenances
  • Paint fire hydrants
  • Carry tools and equipment from company vehicles to work sites
  • Need to descend into 3 to 5 foot deep excavations and perform repairs
  • Flagging and traffic control
  • Available for after-hours call outs for emergency repairs

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Qualified candidates should have 0 to 5 years’ applicable experience (construction, plumbing,  previous water authority, etc.)
  • Able to lift and carry/push/pull a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Good physical mobility
  • Good balance
  • Good hand to eye coordination and dexterity
  • High School Diploma or GED
