DEP: NOTICE FOR AVAILABILITY OF NATIONAL PPOLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM GENERAL PERMIT FOR WET WEATHER DISCHARGES FROM COMBINED SEWER SYSTEMS (PAG-06)

The Department of Environmental Protection, the final National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Wet Weather Discharges from Combined Sewer Systems (PAG-06) is available for a five-year term effective on October 17, 2022 until October 16, 2027. Draft TGD: Substantive Revision

DEP ID: 391-0400-001. Title: Pennsylvania’s Public Water System Capability Enhancement StrategyDescription: This document provides guidance to all community, nontransient noncommunity, and transient noncommunity drinking water systems, as well as Department staff on the guidelines and implementation of the Commonwealth’s Public Water System Capability Enhancement Program. The purpose of this document is to establish a rational methodology to implement, track and allocate appropriate resources needed to meet the Federal requirements for a State capacity development strategy for all public water systems. Substantive revisions are proposed to the guidance to facilitate more effective use of grant funds from the United States Environmental Protection Agency by incorporating principles for long-term sustainability.

DEP: EXTENSION OF NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM GENERAL PERMIT FOR DISCHARGES OF STORMWATER ASSOCIATED WITH INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITY (PAG-03)

The Department of Environmental Protection extended the availability of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System General Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Industrial Activity (PAG-03) for six months. DEP: NOTICE OF STATEWIDE WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEETINGS RESCHEDULED

The Department of Environmental Protection announced meetings for the Statewide Water Resource have been rescheduled for July 20, September 21, and November 16. Meetings will be held at 9 a.m. in Rachel Carson State Office, 16th Floor, 400 Market St., Harrisburg, PA 17105. PUC: NOTICE OF POLICY STATEMENT ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION AT DOC. NO. M-2022-3033054

The Public Utility Commission provided notice of the policy statement on public and private fire protection at Doc. No. M-2022- 3033054. As per the motion, it requests PUC’s Commission Bureau of Technical Utility Services to solicit input from Class A water public utility companies on the development of a policy statement for a best practices approach to aspects of fire protection services subject to oversight from PUC.
