Our office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is looking for a Project Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater group. The primary functions of this role are: planning, design and construction engineering of water, wastewater, infrastructure and site-development projects for municipal and private clients, with a focus on water treatment, along with the development of master plans, technical reports, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates and preparation of permit submittals.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Working on multi-disciplinary projects and assisting in coordinating those efforts
  • Assisting project managers and production staff for design projects
  • Assisting project managers and technical staff for contract administration of projects under construction
  • Maintaining open communication with project team members
  • Obtaining precise information about work scope from project managers
  • Performing design calculations and gathering and compiling data
  • Making comparative Engineering and Economic evaluations
  • Developing facilities layouts
  • Performing construction engineering tasks while working closely with other project engineers and project managers
  • Conducting work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm’s QA/QC requirements
  • Assisting with CADD drawings

 

Ideally we’re looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus
  • 4-8 years of experience in the area of water/wastewater/utility/infrastructure design
  • Professional Engineers license, Professional Engineers license in PA a plus
  • Existing client relationships and experience in the Pennsylvania market highly regarded
  • Strong background with water treatment engineering, pumping systems and drinking water regulations
  • Able and willing to travel regionally as needed
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including networking skills
  • Able to devise approaches to problem resolutions
  • Able to exercise independent judgment
  • Solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Able to be proactive and take ownership of the tasks involved
  • Self-motivated and energetic
