Gettysburg Municipal Authority is seeking a full-time Water production Superintendent

This position supports and reports directly to the Utilities Manager. Supervises the operations and maintenance activities of Gettysburg Municipal Authority’s production department including 3.1 MGD conventional gravity filtration plant with super pulsator clarifiers and chemical addition, 6 production ground wells, booster/transfer stations, and storage facilities. Supervision of all staff of the Water production team. Oversees the operation and maintenance of the SCADA system. Ensures water quality meets all state and federal compliance requirements. Establishes standard operating procedures, assists in the development and implementation of safety, capital, and operating plans. Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.  Available to respond to emergency calls and work extended hours.

Qualifications include a valid Pennsylvania class “C” driver’s license, current PA DEP Water Class B license with subclasses 1,7,8,10,11,12. Associates Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Technology, or Environmental Science preferred or equivalent working experience of 5 – 7 years’ experience in water treatment/production field. Thorough knowledge of operation and maintenance of water systems, equipment, and procedures. Supervisory experience required. The applicant needs to possess strong communication and computer skills. Ability to handle multiple projects. Applicant must pass a complete background investigation and pre-employment drug screening test. Must have residence within 25 miles of Water Filtration plant.
