Description – Water Utilities face day-to-day challenges providing reliable, safe drinking water for your customers. The Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) in conjunction with the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is offering this online training for water operators and managers. Topics to be covered include Regulatory Review, Distribution System Water Quality, Lead & Copper Rules, Distribution Infrastructure Management, Premise Plumbing Challenges, Large Building Water Quality Guidelines, Legionella and Premise Plumbing. This class is designed for small to medium sized systems. Large systems, serving greater than 10,000 people, may be limited per our grant requirements. Class size will be limited to 25 attendees.

Presenters

Derik Dressler, Environmental Specialist, RCAP Solutions Bio-Mr. Dressler joined RCAP Solutions in June of 2019. His background is working as a regulator in the Safe Drinking Water Program for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. With RCAP, he provides technical assistance support and training to water and wastewater systems throughout Pennsylvania. Mr. Dressler is a fully licensed drinking water operator in Pennsylvania.

Michael Cohrs, New Jersey State Manager, RCAP Solutions. Bio- Mr. Cohrs joined RCAP Solutions in February 2018. His background is in education, math, and physics. He worked extensively with water systems throughout the country over the last few years to provide training and implementation support on cyanotoxin identification, monitoring and treatment technology. He has years of experience in curriculum development and educational delivery.
