The City of Reading is looking for applicants for the position of Laboratory Supervisor

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overall supervision of lab activities at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sampling of the Industrial Pretreatment Program. Supervises the scheduling, collection and analysis of samples collected in the Treatment Plant Sampling and Pretreatment Program.  Supervises the performance of complex analytical work of a detailed nature.  Supervises the Laboratory staff who perform sampling.  Prepares the monthly DMR report to be submitted to the PADEP.  Reports to the Wastewater Division Manager.  Minimum of 3 year’s experience working in a laboratory involving the analysis of water or wastewater as a chemist or equivalent, B.S. Degree from an accredited college in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or environmental science and a valid PA Driver’s License required.

Experience in the supervision of a laboratory for a wastewater or water treatment facility and PA DEP Sewage Treatment Plant and Operators license or other knowledge of wastewater treatment is desirable.  Pennsylvania Must meet requirements set in Chapter 252 Accreditation of Environmental Laboratories.
