Executive Director Position Information

Due to the impending retirement of its long tenured Executive Director the Bradford City Water Authority has an immediate opening to serve in their top administrative position.

BCWA is a diverse Independent Operating Authority chartered by the City of Bradford and operated by a five person Board of Directors. The Authority provides public water to the incorporating municipality as well as three surrounding townships which encompass the Tuna Valley. The water utility is comprised of 100 miles of distribution lines, 6,300 customer accounts, a service population of 18,000, 15 full time employees and a $3.75 million annual budget.

Responsibilities include oversight of a 6.5 million gallon per day water treatment plant, dewatering facility, distribution system, and three water impoundments. Also water resource and land management of a 12,000 acre watershed including diverse operations of sustainable yield forestry, oil and gas lease operations and recreational public shared use activities and programs.

Candidates should have extensive leadership skills and background in full staff operations, projects engineering planning and implementation, environmental regulatory compliance as well as finance and budget preparations. This position requires a minimum of five years in an executive leadership position, strong related educational credentials, current Pennsylvania water certification and licensing or ability to obtain. A BS in a related engineering field or Business Administration is a plus.
