Full-Time Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator

Western Berks Water is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator.  This is a supervisory and technical position involving responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant containing facilities for filtration with pretreatment required certification.  Typical work activities include the supervision of the plant to assure the most efficient and economical use of equipment, supplies and manpower; Makes daily inspection of plant and plant machinery; Makes or supervises necessary tests for control of plant operation; Schedules and supervises the cleaning and washing of filters; Supervises and instructs operators, trainees and other subordinate employees; Conducts periodic examinations of plant equipment and directs necessary repairs and maintenance; Conducts special studies for improvement of water quality and plant operations; Requisitions materials and maintains inventory of supplies, chemical and equipment. Graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work in chemistry, biology, math, or related courses, and 6 to 10 years of experience in water purification or wastewater treatment plant operation and mechanical repair work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Full-Time IT Systems Manager

Western Berks Water is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of IT Systems Manager.  This is a supervisory and technical position that ensures a smooth and effective data management infrastructure. Responsible for overseeing data systems and ensuring they meet organizational requirements.  The IT Systems Manager is also responsible for planning, designing and implementing information systems and installation activities as necessary. Works with organizational end users to clarify current operating procedures and communicate program objectives. Implements and manages all systems and network configurations. Resolves network performance issues and establishes a disaster recovery plan.
