The 2015 North American Water Loss Conference and Exposition (NAWL15) is breaking all expectations for a record crowd for its conference to be held December 8-9, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.  There are already more than 320 registered to attend the event, including attendees from 26 states and 10 countries outside of the U.S.  37 exhibitors will showcase their products and services at the conference.

A number of new and exciting changes have been announced for the program.  Sue Mosburg, Chair of the AWWA California/Nevada section, has been added as a conference keynoter to speak on California’s Water Loss Control Collaborative and the recently enacted California water loss legislation SB 555.   She joins previously announced conference keynoter speaker Becki Clark, Deputy Director of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water.

The conference technical program also has added five Learning Modules, which are 90-minute workshops in which attendees can obtain detailed information in a concentrated fashion on a particular topic relative to Non-revenue water management.  One of the modules is entitled “Expert Guidance on Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) & Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).”  The session instructors are Don Schlenger of Don Schlenger & Associates and David Hughes of American Water, two of the three authors of the prominent Water Research Foundation/UK Water Industry Research Report “Advanced Metering Infrastructure: Best Practices for Water Utilities”.  AMR/AMI technology is rapidly being implemented by many North American water utilities, and attendees will truly have the opportunity to learn from the experts by attending this Learning Module.

The technical program for the conference also has an outstanding roster of over 60 national and international speakers and panels, covering diverse topics such as developing water loss policies, auditing your system, reducing apparent losses, controlling leakage, managing pressures, and documenting progress, both for utilities and for regulators.  Case studies on implementation of established best practices and innovations for water loss management will be presented.  If you are concerned about leakage in your distribution system, or wondering how you should conduct a water audit and analysis of your leakage, customer metering or billing, this conference is definitely for you.  This not-to-be missed assemblage of policy and technical experts will provide the latest up to date information on non-revenue water management.

The program is posted at http://www.gawp.org/event/NAWL15.

NAWL15 is the first conference of its kind in North America, and is being sponsored by seven regional, national and international water organizations.
