PA-AWWA’ s Dan Cannistraci wins ACE14 Fresh Ideas Poster Competition!!!

Winners from Pennsylvania, Minnesota, New Jersey Sections


(DENVER) – The American Water Works Association today announced the winners of its annual student poster competition. The competition took place during AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE14) in Boston June 8-12.

The first place winner is Dan Cannistraci for his poster entitled “Development of a FISH-to-PCR Essay for Quantification and Genotyping of Cryptosporidium Spp. in Environmental Samples”. Cannistraci represented AWWA’s Pennsylvania Section in this competition.


The second place winner is Kevin Young of Moorhead Public Service for his poster entitled “Prevention of Bromate Formation in the Moorhead Water Treatment Plant”. Young represented AWWA’s Minnesota Section in this competition.


The third place winner is Joe Goodwill of the University of Massachusetts for his poster entitled “Emerging Drinking Water Technologies”. Goodwill represented AWWA’s New Jersey Section in this competition.


The Fresh Ideas Poster Competition was one of several special events at ACE14 geared towardAWWA members who are students and young professionals of AWWA.
