On-line training is available for all Drinking Water Operators, whether they are association members or non-members.  Click here for a complete list of courses that will be offered.    Read the documentation on DEP course approval.  Each on-line course is worth 1 PA DEP Contact Hour each.

Partnership for Safe Water Information Phase III Contact Hours

If you are currently working on the Phase III self-assessment, you may be eligible for 20 contact hours upon receiving a Phase III award. Please read through the frequently asked questions for additional information - Click Here

The Partnership for Safe Water course has been approved under the Pennsylvania water and wastewater operator training program for 20 contract hours.


Important Information for Operators:
Pa DEP has restarted their operator reimbursement program for small water systems serving 3,300 or fewer persons.  Certain operators who qualify are eligible to be reimbursed for the cost of approved training courses or the cost of the certification exam.  Please review the training reimbursement application or test reimbursement application.

Water and Wastewater Operators Certification Examinations...Get in the PA-AWWA and WWOAP Zone!

The Pennsylvania Section of the American Water Works Association (PA-AWWA) and Water Works Operators of Pennsylvania (WWOAP) are partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to present the new Operators Certification Examination.   To reach the ultimate goal of increased drinking water and wastewater system compliance with the requirement to have a qualified certified operator, DEP requires testing in order to obtain a license to operate a water plant in Pennsylvania.   Click here for the Application form, DEP Registration form and instructions.
