EPA Preparedness/Response Training Offer

EPA preparedness/response training offer

EPA’s Water Security Division is in the planning stage for FY 2015 (beginning October 1, 2014).  We have an opportunity to request training, either in-person workshops or webinars, on a wide range of water security/preparedness/response/recovery/climate change/etc. topics.  Currently materials exist for much of this to occur with little additional effort except for logistics.

If you would like to host or offer a suggestion for a course to cover your needs, please let me know by the end of the month.  Below are ideas, but not an exhaustive list, of what we can offer.  I will compile your responses and ask that these be included in the planning for our region for FY 2015.  I will also share all plans with you, including asking for speakers or assistance with hosting as needed.  As pre-recorded webinars become available I will also share that with you.  Some of this exists, but not in a nicely compiled listing.

Potential training courses from EPA:

ICS 300-400 course

Water/energy nexus

Flood resiliency guide

Federal Funding

Tabletop exercises

Message mapping

Preparing for extreme weather events

Critical customer/interdependencies

Worker safety/responding to contamination events

Water laboratory alliance

Climate ready water utilities

Sustainable water utilities

Interstate mutual aid (planned for this spring in the Mid-Atlantic area, no date as yet)

What’s your idea to cover a need?
