Distribution Supervisor – City of Harrisburg, Bureau of Water Resources

Harrisburg, the Capital City of Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the position of Distribution Supervisor, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Water. This professional and administrative position is responsible for the activities of the Distribution System Maintenance Division of the Bureau of Water, including the operation, maintenance and repair of the conveyance system, Reservoir Park Facilities, and auxiliary facilities in accordance with engineering standards and federal, state, and local regulations. Supervision is exercised over divisional personnel responsible for the operation of this division. The employee plans, supervises, coordinates, and directs the various divisional functions under the policy direction of the Bureau Director. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Bureau Director. This is a management, FLSA-exempt position.

Qualified applicants will have a High School diploma or equivalent. Five years experience in the maintenance and repair of water distribution systems. Three years supervisory experience in water distribution. A valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License, Class B. Possession of a current Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Waterworks Operator Class E Certification and appropriate subclasses or the ability to obtain certification within two testing periods following date of employment. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The successful candidate must be a resident within the corporate limits ofthe City of Harrisburg, or willing to move yourself (and your immediate family, if applicable) into the corporate limits of the City of Harrisburg within twelve months from date of hire. The City of Harrisburg offers a competitive compensation package of an annual salary range of $45,000.00 to $49,980.00, commensurate with experience, plus an excellent benefits program.
