ATTENTION PA. WATER UTILITIES…Are you interested in EPA support for climate assessment?

EPA is looking for a few utilities that are willing to participate in an utility climate ready assessment with our support. The Climate Ready Water Utility team plans to conduct a number of individual Climate Resilience Evaluation Awareness Tool (CREAT) drinking water and wastewater utility assessments.

Participating utilities would need to assume, on average, an hour of effort (conference calls) a week for a period of two to three months. EPA would also conduct a two-day onsite visit at the utility. Importantly, participants must be willing to publicly support these efforts, which would entail EPA and the utility promoting the work in the press, journals, and conferences.

If you have interest, please let me know by the end of the day, Friday September 9th!  If you are already experiencing climate change impacts, could you also identify this as it will factor into the selection decision.

Only one or two utilities per EPA region will be involved in this effort.  EPA also plans to hold a region-wide workshop, with the key focus being the CREAT tools.  More to come when the details are known.
